Total Raised $ 4,513.14

We’re happy to announce that we have an official total for the Castle Fan Charity Conventions held in Sydney and Melbourne in December. The events were both a huge success raising a total of $4513.14 for charity!  This was divided by the two supported charities Animal Adoption Agency, Sydney and Save-a-Dog Scheme, Melbourne.

Thank you so much!! That amount of money raised will be so helpful. We have been trying to expand our facilities to provide extra room to take more surrendered animals. So this is a huge help for us as we will be putting that money towards building more playpens for them. By us doing this, we can save many more animals from being taken to the pound and be able to accept them with us, where we have a no kill shelter & they WILL get a good home.

Convention DVD

Since the event people have been eagerly awaiting news of a DVD of the convention panels.  Unfortunately we had endless problems trying to get the panels on DVD and arrange for an effective method of distribution so we abandoned the idea of providing physical DVDs.  The good news is we’ve come up with an alternative solution where you can buy a virtual copy of the DVD.  The DVDs will be processed via CastleTV.net.  You can find all the details here.

We had a number of autographed items for auction during our Melbourne & Sydney events however we didn’t have time to auction a couple of extra items so we have them listed on ebay for auction now.

As we’ve already made the donations to the two charities from the Sydney and Melbourne events we’ll hold the proceeds from these auctions until the next Castle Charity Convention.  If planning does not begin on another event within 12 months the amount from these auctions will be donated separately to one of the existing charities.

After such a fantastic event in Sydney, Melbourne had a lot to live up to but Melbourites met the challenge and the event was a huge success!

The event held at the Westin Melbourne hotel started at 6 but many arrived early including some who hadn’t pre-bought tickets and were hoping they hadn’t missed out. Fortunately we still had a few spots available so everyone got a seat.

With about 85 people attending everyone was in and registered by 6pm and Scotty from First Contact Conventions got everyone amped up and then welcomed Seamus and Juliana to the stage.

Once again Seamus and Juliana showed a sneak peek of 2 minutes of the upcoming episode and shared some wonderful stories and answered questions from the audience. The biggest laugh of the day can be seen in the video below…

Juliana and Seamus asked some trivia questions they’d prepared specifically and handed out signed copies of TV Guide another copy of a Christmas card designed by Seamus’ father and another prop from Ryan’s desk.

Following was an auction of specially signed items that Seamus and Juliana had brought with them after having the entire cast autograph them, the Nikki Heat script bringing in a whopping $920! All up the Melbourne event raised around $2500 for the Save-a-Dog Scheme.

As with Sydney Seamus and Juliana took time to greet every person in attendance and sign photos for them. The event concluded with Seamus and Juliana taking photos with the ten lucky seat prize winners on the balcony overlooking the city.

Between ticket sales and the auction the Melbourne event raised approximately $2500 bringing the total from both events to around $4500!  An amazing effort thanks to the generosity of Seamus & Juliana and all those who attended, bid on auction items and made donations.

Seamus and Juliana Dever spent a jam packed two hours with fans in Sydney today. The weather had been miserable all day but the sun came out bright and shining late in the afternoon to match the moods of those lucky enough to attend.

The event started off with a special 2 minute video arranged especially for the event.  The video was followed by a Q&A session where Juliana and Seamus enjoyed sharing stories from the set and talked about things like the role they’d like to play if they could do any project together.

The Q&A session was finished off with a special trivia treat prepared by our guests with those answering correctly provided with autographed copies of TV Guide and some other special treats including one item that has appeared on Ryan’s desk in several episodes of Castle.

Following the Q&A 10 lucky people were able to have their photographs taken with Seamus & Juliana and then the pair signed autographs and said hi to everyone before wrapping up.

Tomorrow it all happens again in Melbourne so if you haven’t bought a ticket yet there will be some available at the door (limited).

Numbers have yet to be finalised but we’re happy to announce the event raised over $1500 for the Animal Adoption Agency!

Sydney Update

With less than a week to go the Sydney event has sold out and we have a few names on a standby list so if you have a ticket for Sydney and for some reason you’re unable to attend please contact us so we can arrange for someone else to take your spot. The Sydney event will be held at 72 Erskine.

Melbourne Update

There are plenty tickets still available for the Melbourne event (due to having a larger venue) so if you’ve been holding off buying a ticket read below and then go order one! The Melbourne event will be held at the Westin Melbourne in the Westin Room III.

We’d like to thank Scotty and First Contact Conventions for helping us out with the Melbourne event, we appreciate them taking some of the load off our shoulders by providing a few experienced volunteers.  If you’re a fan of sci-fi be sure to check out their upcoming events in Melbourne.

Autographs

* Seamus will be signing an 8×10 headshot for everyone attending in Sydney and Melbourne AND Seamus and Juliana are also generously giving everyone attending a very special signed limited edition wedding photo that they’ve had specially printed for us Aussies! If you have a Castle related item of your own you would really like signed you may bring one (only one please) item with you.  We ask that you understand and appreciate that due to such a short time frame and to be fair to all those attending you won’t likely have the opportunity to have a long conversation with our guests.

Photos

As previously announced there will be no formal photo sessions at the event but we’ve arranged to have just 10 casual photo ops available as lucky door prizes so ten lucky people will get to have their photo taken with Seamus and Juliana.  These photos will not be professional photo ops but you can use your own camera (or I’ll have mine handy) to take the photo. Please do not ask to take photos with Seamus & Juliana during the autograph session, only those who’ve won the door prizes will be able to get photos.

Auction

If all that isn’t enough, there are also going to be some fantastic items up for auction signed by the entire cast of Castle including books, the graphic novel and a script for the “Nikki Heat” episode so come prepared!  All auction items must be paid for on the day, we’ll be able to process credit card payments via our PayPal system or you can use the balance in your PayPal account, unfortunately PayPal bank transfers can’t be accepted as these will take several days to clear.

What!? You want MORE? Oh… Ok… if all this awesomeness just isn’t enough for you, we’ll throw in a very special sneak peek of part of the yet-to-be-aired episode 4:11! (Spoilerphobes beware, sorry). There will be a very strict no-recording policy in place when we show the promo so we ask that you please respect that.
